Harriett Tan // Colour It & Man It
I have many vivid memories growing up and working in my mother’s salon, but only one that comes to the forefront that became the steppingstone to my career. The story started with my mother asking me to do an Asian flat top, I was 14 years old. I drew in all the training of traditional and modern hairdressing techniques I had been taught and I’m happy to say I nailed that flat top.
I have learnt to understand, respect and mould my craft over the 19 years, moving to Australia to create and infuse fashion and hair. Along the way I have forged great support networks and have had opportunities to work alongside some of Australia’s most highly reputable companies and stylists.
I love pushing myself and getting involved in community fashion events like, Fashion Festival or seeing the creativity in my work being featured in Hair Mag UK and making American Crew All Star Challenge Finalist for 2017.
It allows me to constantly grow and draw on my surroundings and events to create the next fashion statement.
